I don't know if many people here hire the likes of "Dr. Greenthumb" or "Pro Lawncare" for their lawn requirements, but what do you end up paying and what service do you receive for that?

Or, Do you pay someone else to mow your lawn once a week? How much do people pay for this?

How big is your lawn?

Am looking at branching into my own thing as I'm a Greenkeeper on a golf course professionally, but can't help but think that with my knowledge and experience over the last ten years, that I should be pulling in an extra quid or two in my own time by offering lawncare servces. Need to figure out a price scale though. The big companies' websites are so generic in answering any questions regarding cost...

+1  Pea gravel was a brilliant invention and got a good price for the petrol lawnmower

I can't hear my missus nagging while I'm mowing the lawn. Therapeutic work.
And the smell of freshly cut grass.......lovely.

If it helps.....I have two smallish lawns, one about 12M x 6M and one about 5M x 5M. The local gardener/handyman quoted £25-£30. Every week is a bit much I think, maybe once a fortnight.

I go out and wee on mine every so often after a few beers! Seems to help it along a bit!!
