I am seriously thinking about getting a gardener, only small gardens, 1 lawn, I just never seem to have the time / priority........ :( :( artificial grass is being considered, I am not allowed to use green concrete or similar as swmbo is convinced I would get an additional car or two if I had the space..... :D :D

If it helps.....I have two smallish lawns, one about 12M x 6M and one about 5M x 5M. The local gardener/handyman quoted £25-£30. Every week is a bit much I think, maybe once a fortnight.

That's exactly what I'm after  :y

So less than 100m2? Hmmm I bet that takes less than an hour!! Nice little earner even after tax lol especially if a few of them get done in an afternoon.

What else, anyone??

That of course is the trick. The £25 includes travelling time to and from, fuel used, insurance, wear and tear on tools, vehicle, an element for misfortune(e.g. tools get nicked out of your vehicle while you are unloading), possibility of arriving having travelled and found the person is out! cost of going in the first place and providing a quote.

Travel time is a killer - I know when I was self employed I considered it a good day if I could fit in four 1hr appointments between 9 & 5.. of course if you're working into the evening it's a different story.

I can't help on the garden front mind, I have ~10m x 5m and 50% of that is mud and stumps, 15% is gravel.. ;D

I'm hoping to get a couple together at a time near each other to get two in one hit! Travel times a killer when there's traffic about, that rush hour lark is madness!!
