HELP Petrol filter
« on: 13 July 2013, 21:11:27 »

Hi there, I have just tried to change my petrol filter, when I removed the old one the plastic ring came out on the old filter, when I tried to fit the new one it wouldn't click into place after a lot of messing around I have managed to split the o ring. Has anyone got a fix for this or any idea how I can bodge it up or repair it?

I've only done this once, on my 2.5 MFL but I found that the newly supplied clip did not fit, and I had to reuse the old one.
I can't remember the procedure but can the o ring not be replaced?

When refitting, I find it easier to put the new clip into the fuel line connection first. The filter then clicks in nicely with a minimal amount of fuss :y
