Billing thanks
« on: 15 July 2013, 20:06:46 »

Thanks to the 2 Omega guys at Billing 2013 who gave me the advice of removing my air filter to see if it was the cause of my Omega's smoking exhaust.

I shall update once I have given it a few days of running without it to see if it has helped...

Thanks again

Terry

Welcome.

Slightly odd advice though IMO.

If your air filter is blocked then brush the worst of the crap off & put it back until you can get a clean one. A blocked air filter will reduce performance on a fuel injected engine but it shouldn't cause smoking. The problem is more likely to be blocked breathers.

Well after removing the air filter, cleaning the breather pipes my 2.0 CDX is still putting out blue smoke when hot, so it now appears as if it is my first fear of worn rings/engine wear, I have sourced another 2.0 engine which I am picking up tomorrow evening, does anybody know how difficult removing and fitting the new engine will be ?, and would it be easier to remove with the auto gearbox still attached to the engine ?, if anyone has done this job before I would really appreciate any advice..

Many thanks
