Fairly sure that car left the factory painted Radiant Red...

They've done well to get it to fade evenly ;D

My 1998 Corsa B FL was red and boy did it fade, in the end I got massive arms  ::) with all the polishing I did, and it looked like new when I was finished with it  :y http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=104959.0

Cutting paste and a mop, if REALLY bad, 1200 W&D and then cut and mop.

All red paint seems to fade... I'm sure a scientist would be able to say why?

If that fades, it will become more purple.

I used to work as a colour matcher in an ink company - colour fade is not really understood, but is something to do with UV radiation changing the chemical makeup of the pigment - it adds extra electrons to the pigment molecule, allowing them to change shape, so the refractive index changes.

White "fades" to ivory>beige.
Pink (the pigment is actually "rhodamine") fades to purple
Red fades to light red

I thought the red fade was only on vauxhall paints  :-\ To get the colour back like you have , dont you have to cut through the lacquer ? Seems the lacquer has lifted on my daughters corsa but just on the bonnet  :(
