Bus Driving - Provisional Entitlement Question
« on: 22 July 2013, 12:08:40 »

Hi all.

I recently updated my photo on my driving licence and it came back with my bus driving provisional entitlement ending in November 2015. I never looked at the licence before I sent it off.

I applied for my bus provisional in 2010 but thought you only had 2 years to pass before the provisional entitlement was withdrawn.

Does anyone know what the rules are? Have they changed recently?

Thanks. :y

Provisional only expires when you pass a relevant test :y

The two year expiry applies only to the theory tests :y

Reason it expires is you might be 45 and need a medical.
Every 5 years after 40.
Also have you done any cpc. But thats another thread and waste of money >:(

Pretty much if you want a job ::) Sept '13 for buses of 9+ passengers, and Sept '14 for trucks over 3.5t, but new licences include the first five years as the test for D/D1 Commercial is a five parter, and if you don't already have C1 entitlement then the same applies to them as well :y

Five days and about £700 or 1 day/£140 per year, not so bad ::)

Do it know and you're covered until Sept '19, by which time you'll need to have done another 5 days in order to continue it...

As good a way of getting your licence paid for as any :y Might get tied into a contract for a few years though :-\
