Hi all

Just had a hell of a job getting the top bolt of the drop link off. The problem was that the bolt was rotating as I tried to undo the nut. Should it be doing this? Managed to remove by getting some plumbers pliers around the metal by the rubber grommet but am concerned I wont be able to get it all back together.

As above or possibly an Allen key or Torx hole in the end of the threaded part if they've been changed previously. I've only ever removed them to bin but I know what a sod they can be if they have no inner nut. 

When the thread spins, it twists the ball and gaiter but not sure if it ruins it. As said, I normally remove to bin, so I just pilot drill the nut in a couple of places and whack a small punch in one of the holes to split the nut.
