I should have said we had a deal where we had 3D movies included but we were told it would be more on top  :y Yes Freeview will do fine and HD on a lot of channels ...not that it makes any difference with my eyes  ::) ;D ;D

Likewise. Never had, & never had the need for Sky .............. the price you can pay per month is all the justification we need.  ;)

Same here. I can't think of anything that was on any type of pay TV that I really felt that I absolutely had to see or would have paid to see.

A few years ago, we needed a new TV Receiver & Recorder...
Digital was there, but a bit crap in our area where we picked up Welsh and English TV.

'Bought' Sky as a put us on solution for while switchover happened, and technology matured as there was so much going on.

Our old TV packed up a couple of months ago, So replaced it with a Samsung Smart TV, with freeview and freesat built in.
Cancelled Sky,
TV can record onto a USB HDD plugged in the back, but generally we record nothing now and watch anything we need to on catchup, or download and stream the odd series we want on DLNA.

Dont miss sky, and havent looked back.  It did however suit our needs perfectly for few years, Only ever had the entertainment type packs at £23ish a month.

£384  a year for a load of old repeats. You're better off without it, Mr EMD. :y

Freeview here too, happy enough but miss the Cricket and live F1. I will not pay for things I don't want it's only TV after all  :y

HD seems to make no difference either except the volume is lower ???
