Must admit we are going to be cancelling our subscription in the next few days and its going to be a very sad day in the healey household.

I know it's not cheap but we really do use it. My missus loves the sky one, Atlantic and living (amongst others) whereas I love the documentary channels and the sport and movies, especially seeing how it looks like Watford might be spending a bit of time on ss1 this season! Plus with a 5&6 yr old there's always something on (or on catchup)

I know it's fashionable to knock sky and the Murdoch empire but we have had a sterling service from them in the many years we've used them.

But needs must and I suppose putting food in our mouths is more important nowadays!!

A bad time to enter the thread after Magic's post.... but.

Just plugged in my new (free) 2TB Sky-Box and will be enjoying Sky for a further 12months.

Despite how good FreeView has become, I am damn sure I couldn't happily watch TV without a gazillion of channels of shit to watch!  ;D

Squealey, with the roll-out of BT Vision, Sky are currently offering fellatio to keep you as a customer!  :y

I think there's plenty of crap on Freeview to watch, without paying Sky for more!  ::) Never have and never will!!  :)

In fact I havn't had a telly for over 12 months now and just watch stuff I want to on the catch up services!  :)  It's quite liberating really and of course no TV tax licence!!!  :y

I have Sky broadband, phone and tv and I'm really happy with it. It works out at about £55 a month so it's good value for what you get.

Sky are currently offering fellatio to keep you as a customer!  "DAMN". That did sound tempting. But the missus has only another 2 teeth to lose...  :-\

Well I love sky. The sport coverage alone is worth the monthly fee.
Each to their own though  :y

AFAIK, if you have a television aerial, you need to pay for a license nowadays.  Something to do with being 'able' to receive a broadcast?  :-\

We have had this 'debate' before, iirc you do need a licence, regardless of how you receive a tv broadcast, otherwise we would all get rid of our TV's and use a computer and perhaps a projector...... ;) ;)
