Easy Tiger - Sky are forthcoming with massive discounts and free stuff if you ask the right questions to the right member of staff.

That's the new 2TB box arrived which yesterday on-top of the old wayward bag of shite Sky fobbed me off with when I had a problem with the original box many moons ago.

They also reduced a very similar bill to yours to just over £40 a month.  12 month contract, but meh, I like Sky.

Speak to the right person and you can have anything you want!  ;D

Her name was Joy.  She was, I believe, of Caribbean origin and quite a laugh on the phone.  It took a couple of hours, but with some friendly banter and a lot of "I'll speak to my boss, boss" it all came good.  :y

Just mention BT Vision and Sky reps shit themselves!  ;D

Honestly, I do not know - I tried about 6 months ago for a discount and they processed my cancellation!  ;D

Of course, I phoned back the next day and cancelled the cancellation.

With the roll out of BT Vision, I think Sky are losing customers hand over fist.  I personally like Sky, I've had mixed experiences with Customer Services and mixed experiences with their Engineers, but the product is fantastic.

I'll let someone else play Guinea Pig for BT vision, and if it proves to be good then (in 12months time) I'll change.

Good luck with your quest for cheaper bills.  It is possible, but as said, very much depends on who you talk to, and I guess, how you ask them????

hi all

Just thought I'd update the thread, I sent an email to skys CEO, Jeremy Darroch explaining the above and sent some 'screen shoots' of quotes from virgin & BT vision.

I was polite and wasn't holding them to ransome or anything and 1 day later, a lovely lady, Carol called me......

She was very sorry about the way my initial call was handled to Sky and was worried that I felt the need to contact Jeremy.

As a result Carol has agreed to reduce my bill from £71.25 to £49.75 (fixed for 12months) and is sending out a new 2tb box and new router.

Very pleased at this, it is a shame that as a long standing customer I had to write to the CEO....
