Don't know if there's some local issue but its cirtainly the case around here.

They're bloody everywhere. Especially at rush hour.

Anyone else seen more plod on the road?

Not around here - I've seen more police vans but no more cars than usual.. I've also seen one of those vans completely ignore someone run a (non camera controlled) red light directly in front of them ;D

(No, it wasn't me!)

I must say I cannot wait to see how much that will be enforced.  If the police go town on them I will be a very happy bunny :y

If the example video clip shown along with the news story on lane hogging is to be believed, the odds for catching middle laners is going to be much decreased again, even if plod are available.

Three miles of empty motorway "might" arise to a pull. Might. Or so it seemed.

I've said it before........IF we were left to do what we were supposed to do "Traffic" jobs, It would literally be like you say Kevin 'shooting fish out of a barrel' Most of the time we are used as just being a 'fast panda' these days - domestics etc... because there isn't enough other bobbies on the beat!

Couple of weeks ago I managed a whole morning (Very rare) 3 hours on enforcement & went through 3 books on phones alone. Unfortunately the message isn't getting through and the penalties aren't tough enough, but the fine is going up to £100 shortly, as are all other fixed penalties.

On the other hand on a bad day (eg. the other day) had to arrest someone for no insurance (don't ask!  ::) ::) ::) ) spent over 3 hrs in custody  >:( >:( >:(  Simple RTC's can take hours to sort out - waiting for paramedics & recovery etc. and it is very frustrating, often leaving us feeling like we ain't done anything all day.

In an ideal world especially for traffic enforcement I'd love to be in a plain car (who does sommat they shouldn't in front of a marked up Beemer??) but we can't because we are told we have to be in a marked car. Annoying the amount of people I see when driving home on mobiles or texting  >:(

Non that I saw, that is.

Others saw an unmarked car pull, and a police incident on the motorway involving 3 marked cars.
