My old Honda mower - the model that predates the Izzy range - used less than half a cupful to do my lawns bits of grass, though tiny area to cut. I always thought it was frugal on fuel.

Presumably that is now distributed throughout the greater Brackley area? ::)
Nah, I have most of it:

Give the engine a fettle, and it'll be good as new....

My Mountfield is smoking like a b*****d at the moment where some dozy mare put two stroke mix from the Moto X bike in it.  ::) ::)

She said she wondered what 33/1 meant on the side of the Jerry Can.  ::) ;D

I think that my petrol mower is probably running a little rich.

I  only get about three or four full cuts for each can of petrol (5 litres).... :( :(

You don't drink WKD by any chance?  ;) :P ;D ;D ;D ;D

Where I had run out of ordinary petrol I made the mistake of using some of my chainsaw 2-stroke mix and it also lubricated the plug gap causing a misfire which in turn lubricated the paper air filter, which clogged it, so it needed replacing.  :-[

The fire must have been at quite some temperature from the alloy it melted on your Kawasaki and also the alloy lawnmower engine.  :o :o :o :o

I like fire. I have an unhealthy fascination with fire. I am mesmorised by it, infactuated even. I am certainly no stranger to them.

However, the speed and intensity of that one I still struggle to comprehend - from a "oh, maybe I should think about getting a hose on that" to "shit, both my neighbour and I are going to lose our homes" was probably only about 12 minutes. Probably the longest 12 minutes I'll ever experience, admittedly, but still only 12 minutes.

We've all seen TV programmes where they set fire to cars/sofas/whatever to show how dangerous fire can be, but I think you have to first hand witness it to comprehend.

So, to answer your question, yes, it was frakkin hot. Just as well, as I had nothing but a dressing gown, a cat and a phone on ;D

might be an idea to remove that bit, in case it's seen as an admission of culpability  :y

We bought a sofa from a catalogue  >:( ::) not long after we were married.
It was properly labelled with all the "fire resist" tags.

Cos it was such low quality, after about two years, it was knackered, so decided to burn it in the field at the back of the house.
Quick squirt of IPA (iso propyl alcohol, not india pale ale  ::) ) and a match.
It took about thirty seconds to become a huge ball of fire that was too hot to look at, and generate a HUGE mushroom cloud of black smoke  :o
within two minutes it had *gone*.
If it had happened in the house, we'd've been dead within 90 seconds  :o
Scary thought
