panel lighting
« on: 29 August 2013, 18:56:32 »

On my  display panel ,average consumption, outside temp etc.  the lighting seems to have almost disappeared during day light The control to increase and decrease does its job but on a bright day I cannot read the display. Could it be the dimming control getting lazy. Any ideas.

If the dimmer control is making a difference, it means you have your lights on !! (or the system thinks they are on !!) as the brightness control is inoperative with the lights turned off. If the lights are off, and the brightness is fixed but dim .. then probably a bulb or two blown.

Panel out and replace the bulbs, there's a "how to" in the guides section :)

I had the same fault on the car I bought Wednesday. As I expected, the old bulbs were blackened inside from 11 years of duty. I put in 4 new bulbs (green base instrument bulbs) and the fault was cured.
