Ah,you have the X350 Jag,which was different again to my X300[1995].even so [and I may be biased here]I don't think mine's a £500 car either!

That's what I mean :y, That Jag must have been riddled with faults, Unless it was a good find  :-\... Omega's can be good for £500..

Makes you wonder how they calculated the speed the Jag did I presume GPS or similar but i don't recall reading the wording that would suggest they used such a device  ??? :-\

 Vbox.....Super accurate......Super expensive. :y

 :y

Shame they didn't use an Omega would have been interesting to see the results.
£500 Jag XJ or £500 Omega... decisions, decisions ::)

We might all choose an Omega first, but the rest of the world might prefer the romance of a Jag :y

For the record, either a 3.0 or 3.2 should theoretically hit 150 without much fuss 8)

True, Personaly I'd go for the Omega over a £500 Jag, plus their basic and cramped, Not sure how the handle haven't driven one hard.

I like Jags, but every one I've sat in has proved a tight squeeze. Omega is far more roomy. :y

Same here  :y

Would love an E-Type  :-*

Wish I'd kept mine - one of the better ones - a 3.8 :y

I think shape of Jag Dbug has, is strongest contender for my Omega replacement, either the diesel, or V8 if its cheap enough to LPG. Drove Josh's 4.2 V8 Soverign.

Loved driving position, space, elbow rest point, far, far better ride than Omega. V8 more than enough go, more economical than my 3.2! Loved it.

Also parts service/prices appear good, with a more DIY approach than Audi A8/BMWs.

That said, thanks to OOF, short of a truck impact killing my 2.2, can't see me getting rid of it.

Not a bad price for a 2003 4.2 V8 XJ

Cheapest I could find of the newer shape.

2003 "53" 3.5 V6 XJ8

High miles on these not a massive issue, but agree with Tuns - better to buy a "low" mileage one (mine was on 72K when I got it with FSH etc).  Best advice is don't go for a cheap one, go for a good one - repairs/parts can be very expensive - selling cheap on these implies known (expensive) issues ;)

Not keen on that shape  :(

Prefer these  :y

Yeah, I've liked them too.

Although X350, in XJR form are nice:

It also got heavy Facelift before latest version. Really like looks of these, like Omega, Facelift version ditched Chrome!

The mere thought makes my groin tingle.... :-* :-* :-* :-*

Any 3.8 E-Type, and especially the early 'flat floor' model, are worth big bucks today. :y
