Bah, not worth the bother really, certainly on the ipad. But the ipad is legit so nout to worry about there anyway.

Its the (note Esta>) iphone ::) that's the awkward one. :(
You mean gayphone surely? Call it what it is please.

I'm afraid to say it but best to say it to warn others, iOS7 does affect the iPhone 5's battery life even more than it did before, Maybe i haven't set it up correctly mind, But its got some 15% less by the time i put it on charge on average sometimes near to 5% left. Maybe the battery needs replacing who know. Probably still under warranty  :-\ The biggest problem with the iPhone 5 has been the battery.

My samsung galaxy s, which I have had for nearly three years, runs as fast as it did when new. But it's not clogged up with unnecessary shite.

iPhone 4-S, upgraded for work reasons. Performance is slightly down, not as instant as before. You don't really notice it day to day, but it's there.

Is worth upgrading? Probably not, the much muted control centre and such has been available since I've upgraded. Times I've used it? 0.

That said I don't listen to music on my phone, if I did perhaps I would use features?

Have to say, the lock screen is a step back. I cannot find options to customise front size for lock screen, why would I want that? To fit more mails on it. With iOS6 I could see multiple alerts on lock screen without scrolling, at least a few e-mails and a text. Now? Just a single item!  :(

Yes I have set font size to smallest, which works in say browser/sms but lock screen is bit shoddy really.

Search feature? Nice change, is it worth upgrading? No.

Browser is a nice update, bit cleaner, appears to "slim" everything down when scrolling. Auto hides back buttons and such, but find myself wanting them, but not displayed. So have to scroll up fast to trigger them.

Icon's are fresher, but I prefer Job's approach to realism. Flat Icons are a little dull...

Calender? Well that's better, but just basic improvements.

Photos? Well that's sorted better, by date time/location.  Do I need this feature? Doubtful. Pano's and movies have their own section, but i could tell those apart before.

Battery life? It's the same, I feel everyone who says it worse is because they are using this shinny new OS more. Once they settle back to "normal" use, and an update as come out (7.0.1) suddenly the issue is fixed  ::)

Apparently some of the GUI affects are disabled on everything but 5-S, which we have arriving today apparently. So will compare.

So just got my hands on the 5-S & 5-C.

The 5-S

First impressions? Not great, the "Sapphire" in the home button, has made it feel cheap, using it with 5-C the C's home button feels a lot more solid. Really is a gimmick for me, I often let others share my phone for calls, or check maps or something. Can't see this catching on.

It's not a massive improvement on my 4-S, I certainly won't be trying to make this my phone like I did with 4-S  ::)

I actually prefer the 5-C

It feels much like my old 3G-S, it's much nicer to hold, corners not so sharp. Feels like it can taking a beating, less fragile.

That said, neither has made me go "Yes, I must upgrade from 4-S"

When my current one dies, I might have to jump ship  ::)

Think i might try an Android device next year maybe something like the current HTC One which looks nicely put together  :-\

Useful, cheers tunnie :y

So my instinct not to bother with the pain of updating my gay 5 to IOS7 was correct?

Mrs TB needs to get away from her 3GS at some point, but with only having 2G at work, she's not really using it now...

HTC stand a good chance of going up the Gary Glitter, if the US ban their imports. Good riddance I say, how the hell they can make sure poor phones that on paper should be astounding

Does that include the Htc 1?

Looks interesting, without first hand experience of course.

I had a look at the HTC 1 when I got mine, nice phone but I thought it quite heavy,at least it felt heavier than the Experia Z that I ended up with, glad I got the Z though as its a cracking bit of kit :y
