Which means its takeaway night in our house.  Question is, what to have?

1: Chinese .... Kinda went of them, there must be at least a dozen Chinese takeaways in town, they all pretty much taste the same

2: Indian .... Loving Indian food at the minute, but it is very pricey

3: Pizza.... Same kind of problem as the Chinese, they all are much of a muchness.... Except Domino, but I grudge paying anything from £10-£18 for a pizza!

4 Kebab.... Nah

5: Italian ... It's mostly penne with a sauce chucked at it, can do that at home in 2 mins

6: Chippy: there's loads of them, but the one serving the best Fish Supper is an 8 mile round trip, and I can't be arsed

And im pretty sure when i went passed my local dominos earlier today, they had a sign outside advertising any pizza any size £9.99

Should have added, im going for a chinese beef curry with chips tonight, the sauce in the beef curry is lovely and thick, just right for dunking the chips in

We used to have a very good takeaway which did, amongst other things, Mexican.
Nachos
Tacos
enchilladas
fajitas
chimichangas
Chilli con carne

then they got new management 
now it's just another run-of-the-mill pizza shop in a street of run-of-the-mill pizza shops 

I've found with Chinese food, it's worth cultivating a friendship with the owners - my local chinese does a squid-based dish which is not on the menu and is nice, for a change of flavour.
Also, our local will customise dishes - they do a po-po chicken which is sort of a garlicky, slightly chilli, sweet and sour. It's a bit sweet and sickly for me if done with chicken, but tastes wonderful as a duck meal - yet again, not on the menu - and I order it with noodles rather than rice or chips (yuck)

As we're about 10 years behind with everything in this neck of the woods, I'll look forward to some Japanese in 2023

Oh, and as swmbo fancied a cheeseburger in pitta bread ( don't ask!) , i was off to the kebab house. Had a chicken and kofte kebab. Was ok.
