Need help with fault code.. A bit confused!
« on: 08 September 2013, 21:44:52 »

I've got a fault code now, the engine light is on constantly. The car won't idle very well. I can start it and drive it, but it feels slow and Heavy.. And it seems  to be missfiring a bit at low rpm. If I press in the clutch the engine will just die most of the time.. I'w won't sustain itself on idle.  And if I can get it to idle on it's own, it will die when I start turning the wheel when the servo pump needs Power!I really need to get this fixed.
So I did the paperclip test and wrote down the fault codes. But It seems there are several codes to choose from for various revisions of Omega, and the one I red out don't even exist in any of them as far as I can tell?

I wrote down the codes displayed, and it reads as follows:

1
6900
1
00
1
6900
1
00
1
6900

And so on...
It just keeps repeating. With one blink separating. But as far as I know, there is no 00 code nor 6900 code in any of the code-lists I've seen..?? And I've wrote it Down so many times, I'm sure that's what's displayed..  Help is needed!

I have an Omega B 2.0 liter, 16v 1999 model.

I got confused Reading the various ways of Reading codes on different ecus, however it seems I might have red it wrong, there is no 1 blink to separate it seems, so that means I have:

0100 Mass air flow sensor
P1690 Telltale (Check Light) Voltage High C-37

Does that sound right?

But I still don¨t get the 1690 code.. The light glows to tell me that it is not working? then how could it glow in the first Place? I've never had this code before. The bulb has never been out or anything. Will it og away once I get rid of the other code?

Strange that this should happen right after I washed the engine. I've never seen a air mass flow meter dying from geting a little water sprayed on the outside.. I unplugged it and there was no water in the Connector or anything.

Ignore the 1690 if *both* EML lights are working.

For the power issue, concentrate on the 0100 MAF fault.

Both EML lights? Please clearify? I have the yellow Enginelamp on now. What's the second one? I know there are lamps for oil, abs etc, but as far as I know a blown bulb on any of the other lamps won't canse the engine light to come on? Exept perhaps the Battery lamp, in which case it won't charge the battery either.

Checked for vacuum leaks. Didn't find any. Going to unplug the MAF and see if it will idle properly when warm without it.
