Pipe from air suspension pump hanging off on one end?
« on: 16 September 2013, 18:57:08 »

Hi all,

The air line from the suspension pump is hanging off at one end, I have not looked which end yet.

Is it simply a push on tight fit or does it have a clip/clamp to hold it in place?

What kind of clip/clamp?

I'm going to have a look in a few mins.

Thanks

Should just push on.

Are you sure its not been fitted with non sl shocks, and the pipe has come loose from being tied up out the way?

Its very unusual for them to come adrift.

Sounds like pipe has pulled from the elbow that has the clip assembly.

Yes, pull spring to remove, just push on to fit and spring snaps shut when locked on.

OK, under the car I can see the air pump, the pipe which is still attached at the pump end, but I cant see where to attach the loose end?

Where should I be looking and what for? Better yet does anyone have a picture ?

Thanks

I taped it to the side skirt at work as I was scared it would fall off on the way home.

Should I be looking at the right rear shock absorber area?

Depends "where" the loose end is ?

If it looks like it will reach the rear shock, then yes.

Does it have a fitying on the end? Right angle elbow with a spring set into it?

OK, I thought I had air suspension at least, maybe that should be the first bit.

Is there a really easy way to tell if I have air suspension or not?

At the back of the car I can see a big spring and a shock absorber. In the past I have had heavy loads in the back and it pushed the back of the car low, then when I turn the car on I hear the air pump working and then I get out and the back of the car is higher then it was before I turned the car on.

To answer, where the loose end is, it was simply hanging down and touching the car park floor, so I reached under and taped it to the side shirt on the right passenger door to get it home.

No fitting on the end, just a nicely cut pipe (not jagged like ripped or cut at a weird angle)
