Generally better penetration on 2.4GHz, but as one of the first Licence Free bands about, everything sits on it - Wifi, TV senders, radio remotes, weather stations, the list is endless.

Obviously, the more shite on your frequency, the more retries - like in a noisy pub, when you can barely hear the person you're chatting to, and always asking them to repeat...
