Any Vectra B specialists?
« on: 06 October 2013, 18:28:24 »

Hi,

Noticeably from cold I really struggle to select first gear, I really have to force it into gear even though the clutch is completely down etc. 2nd - 5th don't seem to bad at all?

Once warmed up and used more it doesn't seem as bad. Is this a gearbox oil problem or linkage / selector etc?

Car only has 36k genuine miles so I'm hoping it's not an actual gearbox fault :(

If it's an oil issue, can anybody recommend a brand / type / grade etc  :y

Thanks in advance,

Paul  ;)

I had this problem on my corsa c and it turned out to be the gear linkage had worn, new one fitted, no more problems.

But, could be a different thing altogether on a Veccy  :-\

Thanks for the replies,

I'd been advised it could be the linkage or gearbox oil issue but tbh I haven't checked the level ( don't know how to lol  :-[  ::) )

Is the linkage an expensive fix / easy to do ?

Thanks  :y

I also have another issue  >:(

Car with the spanner light comes on all the time, previous owner told me it was code P1555 which points to the throttle body I think?

I'm hoping it just needs a good clean out  :-\
