Chains are great, but rather messy!!

Fairly sure they won't fit the 18"s

...and are very difficult to fit to anything even slightly lowered. Going by my trial runs.

Yeah, not sure I'd want chains too near those Irmscher wheels anyway.

I did a trial fit on the Bullet's 17s, and seemed easy enough. Obviously it was dry, and the ground not covered in snow, and my hands were not blocks of ice, so I'm not looking forward to ever needing to use them

They're ok on Sport stars, if the tyre has good rim protection, as it keeps the chains away. But yes probably best avoided.

The outside edge of GY F1 Asym2 make Potenza rim protection look mickey mouse .  Not checked the inside edge rim protection.

DOH! Irrelevent anyway, as I've still got those shitty SC5s on the back, which offer little rim protection. Not that I fancy my chances in the snow with them - the buggers cant get traction in the dry

I bought a set for The Merc in Lidl last year and used them once, just for a bit of fun really.   

They worked really well and I went up a steep hill on compacted snow with no problems.    Getting them on was quite easy but getting them off was messy as ....... !!    Add an old jacket and gloves as part of the kit!
