Hello everyone small problwm, hopefully.

Omega 2.6 V6 CDX 2002 warning light on dash indicates car outline with spanner through, understand that this means electrical problem, thing is auto box when foot on brake pedal will not release the gear select lever, any ideas, causes and solutions available.

Could be either the solenoid itself on the selector, or more probably the switch on the brake pedal  :y

many thanks, with solenoid under brake pedal any ideas on what it is type etc, how difficult to fit.

No. The switch is on the pedal. The solenoid is on the gear selector.  :y

Brake switch from the dealers £25  :-\  :-\  :-\ .....  really can't remember how much (sure someone will know for certain  :y) and is straight forward to fit, as long as you can get into the driver's foot well  ;D ;D
