I'm looking forward to this, just to see how well it works and how easy the council find in terms of implementing it.  My council seem to have signed a new contract for refuse collection.

At the moment I just put my bin out weekly for rubbish, and recycling is collected fortnightly, although they don't do cardboard at the moment.

The new contract looks like I will get a wheelie bin for rubbish, collected fortnightly, and a wheelie bin for recycling, collected weekly.

Just means I have to find somewhere to store them...

I wish our bin men had the sense to not leave my glass recycling box at the end of my driveway in a howling gale. Several times I've had to retrieve it from 2 doors up the road.  >:(

The recycling business is a joke too. We have a black bin for recycling stuff and a green one for general rubbish. 20 miles up the road my parents have a green bin for recycling and a black one for other rubbish.  :-/

I can't wait until they start chipping them to track usage too. I'll have endless fun wandering up the road frying the chips with a cattle prod on dustbin day!  ;D

I assume they'll sort out some annual leave or a WFH arrangement with my Boss every Monday morning so I can be home?

Actually, this is sounding like the beginnings of a cushy arrangement. 8-)

i will be leaving one out for the "refuse technicians"-

1) is there any medical reason why you cannot walk more than 20 yards to collect my bin?
2) do you have limited intelligence regarding taking my bin when the lid is open .00005mm?
3) do you have a superiority complex history -to justify blocking the road without a care?
4) are you allergic to items that you have scattered across my drive in a vain attempt to empty my bin.
5) do you have a hearing problem that makes you unaware of the horrific noise you make in the morning?
6) do you have hullucinations when you think you see MUG written on my forehead!!!

7) put the bin(s) back within about 10' of where you collected it from, so I don't have to walk down the road to collect my bin(s)  >:(
