Are ecu failures unknown on Omegas? I had one fail on a Senator. I had no sparks and did not know why. Swopped ecus with a similar 24 Senator and cured the fault.

For several years the received wisdom has been that Omega ECUs do not fail.

Just recently I read that some of the car radios fitted to Omegas were reaching an age (or number of read write cycles) when their memory chips were failing.

The engine ECUs were made by a different manufacturer and should have been designed/specified to survive more arduous conditions, and for longer, than the radios. That said they are the same age............

Was it running normally when last used until switched off?

I would check you have a spark by putting a spare plug into lead no. 1, laying it on the head and watching it while a friend cranks the starter. Is there a spark?
