NCDC 2013 Cartridge won't stay in
« on: 22 October 2013, 21:50:09 »

Hi
all was well with the cd stacker unit, then it stopped reading the discs, I ejected the cartridge, checked the discs, all look ok but now the cartridge wont stay in, it just springs back out immediately, no clicks or anything.

Anyone with any ideas?

I'd say either mech is bent, or come mechanically out of sync.

Either way, a fiddly, tedious and often unsuccessful repair :(

There is a guide in our Maintenence Guides section for swapping over the CDC3. If the mech is bent, or out of sync, I'd acquire a known good CDC3 and swap it over. Use your existing horizontal CDC3 I/O board, as its security coded.
