« on: 28 October 2013, 20:16:16 »

Im thinking about a supercharger conversion for my 2.6 v6. Just looking for a bit of advice on how to do the conversion including cost and fitting also some pics would be helpful  :)

You need to speak to HooverMig as he has already done this to his PFL 2.5 :y

From what I understand, cooling is the biggest problem. If going to such large expense, why not Supercharge the 3.2? I believe that has a stronger crank

Yep, no point in going down the tuning route without starting with the most powerful option, IMHO.

Unless you go the readily available route...

It is my understanding that the 3.2 has the best ability to handle 'more' power.

It is also my understanding that anything 'more' will kill it anyway.

Which is precisely why the retail SAAB 3.0 turbo only puts out 200bhp ::)

Tuning the standard v6, 3.2 included much over stock will only serve to break or blow summat up. The more highly tuned, the quicker it will go bang.

Which (only having one turbo aside) is probably why Saab only tuned their turbocharged 3.0V6 to 200bhp, instead of the 215ish of the normally aspirated Omega lump that it's based on...

Obviously, if the internals are uprated, then there's a better chance of it reliably taking more power, but there are more tuneable engines to be starting with :-\

That's why I wanted it clarified, because I have been reliably informed that the GM v6 bottom end is much like toffee.  ;D

Ah, but do you have any performance mods?

I like to get where I'm going - Driving nowadays is tedious at best.  I'll even admit to WOT when stone cold, due to retards pissing me off.

So far, so good!  :y
