Failed mot on rear brake imbalance
« on: 31 October 2013, 09:29:17 »

As per title. 39% imbalance.

Is the usual culprit a lazy calliper? :y

Lazy or stuck. Got same on the 2.2, either side of both discs look rusty?

Best take pads out, compress calipers and pump brake see what's what. In my case on the bad side I clamped the good caliper, then pump brake to force lazy one out. Push back and repeat :)

Its usualy the pads seized in the caliper due to lack of maintenance.

Easy to sort, pop the pads out, clean the caliper up, bit of copper slip and refit.

Popped the offside rear wheel off, the inside pad had loads of meat, the outer one is worn to nearly nothing.

Still likely to be a stuck (inner) pad, or calliper trouble?

Will be doing new discs and pads all round soon :)
