Steaming up window!
« on: 04 November 2013, 21:00:55 »

Hey people, silly thing really.... now that its getting colder I put the heating on in the omega (only on to 17) but the windows steamed up really quickly. I had to put the settings on to 'lo' I'm guessing this is the air con even though I dont have a 'AC' button? Am I right in thinking that it could be a warn pollen/cabin filter? The previous owner used to keep it parked under a tree alot.

That's a facelift then, with the 'ECO' button. Eco is the Aircon.
There's a couple of things to check - pollen filter is one, and check for water lying at the bottom of the scuttle where the filter sits. There are vents in the cubby hole in the boot (on a saloon anyway) which need to to be kept clear. And also the scuttle drain at the drivers side.
Check these first  :y

Eco in display means aircon OFF :y

Steaming up suggests aircon not working :-\

Lots of wet leaves this time of year so expect scuttle drains are blocked..also check pollen filter as that will have got a good wash too :)

Agreed, take the pollen filter out and put it in the airing cupboard overnight.

Soggy pollen filter is a symptom ::) drying it won't clear the scuttle drain :y

Last night i checked mine out, i have a nice pool of water under the pollen filter. I tried to get my hand in and fished around to see what was blocking it but couldn't feel anything and couldn't get my hand down very far either.

How do i unblock this?
