3 button key fob
« on: 06 November 2013, 09:42:37 »

I have 2 key fobs that came with the car, but none of the fobs work. They don't even push down, they're solid??

I can't remember what the score is with getting new fobs and syncing with the car.

I looked for old posts on this, but either blind, stupid or both couldn't see any  ???

Suggestions please?

TIA :y

I had something similar a while back mate and ending up sending the fobs off to Martin Imber for repair and upgrade.

When they came back I just put them into the ignition with dash lights on for a few mins and then took them out and they then started working etc....... I think that's what I did anyway? :-[

To sync with vehicle switch ignition on and press lock or unlock button, this only works with fobs that have previously been used with the vehicle :y

New battery in fob ?

Its more a case of there is no give under the buttons. They are rock solid.

Hence me trying to work out what would happen if I get new fobs and getting them to work with the car after :-\

New fobs would mean the use of Tech II to code them to your car, and a Car Pass for the code if you don't already have one  :y

egay replacement fob cases are universally shite I'm afraid, the rubber is far too stiff.  I suspect that is what has happened to yours ;)

I recommend a replacement GM fob every time if you don't catch the switches in time before they cause the rubber to fail.
