2.5 block with 2.6 ecu?
« on: 07 November 2013, 18:40:56 »

A strange question, would a 2.5 engine be adaptable to run with a 2.6 ecu , throttle bodies, non egr manifolds etc added to it? if so what else would need to be added to it?

In theory, yes :y

You'll also need to swap all the sensors from the 2.6 block to the 2.5 :y

The only ifbutmaybe would seem to be the crank and cam sensors, given the problems someone else has been having trying to get a 2.6 block to work with 2.5 management  :-\

Im pretty sure the crank sensor is the same, not sure about the cam . Obviously Throttle position sensor would be needed from the pedal too.

Anything else???

If you're putting the 2.5 block into a 2.6 then it should be plug and play, the only exception being the lack of egr and sai :y

Only metioned the crank/cam sensor due the the problem being experienced elsewhere :y

This being the thread that I was refering to...

Cheers its not for me actually it's possibly a 2.6 loom etc going onto a 2.5 engine then the lot into a completely different car as an engine conversion. I guess in this instance the FBW throttle would be a bonus save running a throttle/cruise cable.

Will need the throttle pedal then, most of the car loom, and ideally a manual 2.6/3.2 loom... plus 2.6/3.2 plenum and manifolds :y

Any idea what car it's for :-\
