TBH, as Sony HUs are unbelievably crap, crappier than a crap crap, you've done the right think. A Goodmans would be a better choice ;D

But you'll be unlikely to find a non factory fit radio that will just plug in.

Rather than bodge and shag the car's loom, always use an adapter, and make the modifications on the adpater.

I didnt realize Sony was crapier than crap  ;D
Anyhoo hoping to get sc804 with 6 disc boot changer  :)
