Philips Carin.
« on: 11 November 2013, 18:15:03 »

Hi all you people out there.

My Omega is fitted with a Philips Carin. I have found many similar threads, but not exactly the same. Hopefully someone can help.
I have loaded a new map(inserted a new cd) and it works, sort of. I can search places and it finds the direction, arrow pointing correct direction, but it wont speak to me, and I cant change the language because I have no cd.

I have tried to download software version 2,9 for this system,  MO 3029. It says "Software laden?" I go "Yes" and screen changes to "Bitte laden" (PLease wait), and nothing more happens.

I have searched the internet for updates to buy, language cd but nothing to be found.

Does anyone have a suggestion, please respond.

No noises is usually a blown CARiN speaker, fitted in the footwell.

Also, as far as I know, the latest for the versin fitted to Omega-Bs is 2.3 - thats certainly the latest I have here.

If you're getting pointed to the 2.9 CD, I suspect you are looking on dodgy download sites, and as this is commercial software, we cannot discuss how to obtain from unauthorised distributors.

If the battery has been off, you need to tell the system the junction you are at. It mostly uses motion sensors coupled with the speed signal, with GPS as a secondary method. Thus it needs to know where you are.

The boy: Current software is 2,3, so there will be no need to upgrade the software?
I have bought an original cd from Navteq for updated maps.

I will try to find out how to tell the system where we are.

But I still need a cd to change the language, any idea where to buy such one?

Dealer for sw update cd (needed to change language).
