Egr fault report
« on: 22 November 2013, 10:11:57 »

Can someone tell me how when I take the vac hose off the egr and cork it it knows ive done it and eml comes on and reduced power. Reconnected amd restart engine the fault clears and away it goes. How does it know. You can disconnect the vac to turbo and the inlet flap thing and it doesn't care less and ive tried it. But egr knws whats going on. How?

There are a few ways it can detect the EGR operation, one of which is by monitoring the MAF reading (MAF reading will drop when the EGR is open)
