Thumbs up halfords
« on: 23 November 2013, 19:27:06 »

My halfrauds pro 8-60nm torque wrench became unreliable last month. I bought it in 2006

Walked into the store with it looking very worn and tatty, with no reciept

"No worries sir, it's got a lifetime warranty, have a new one on us"

Incredible service...

Which branch was that?

Good to see them honor it without issue  :)

I can say without reservation that the Colchester branch is utterly sh1te. Have always refused to change anything, even with the lifetime warranty, unless I went home and found the receipt. They always look at me as though Im speaking Swahili if I ask for an actual part for an actual car rather than a pair of very loud speakers with pink furry dice attached to them. :D
I asked the parts assistant last year if they sold brake pipes. He tried to sell me some plastic tubing, and told me with some confidence that it "would do the job".  ;D
I tend to use Eurcraprats instead now.  :)

Result  :y Cant complain about the service here as they do know whats what . Although generally dont use them as prices for small items are usually too high . Like an aerial adapter £5  :o Local factors £1.70  :)

Iirc, a seller does not by law have to give you a receipt, as such, as long as it is obvious that the item is sold by them, that you do not need to have a receipt!

I bought a socket set from them in 1989 & broke one of them a couple of years ago.

Took it back and they changed it without question.  :y

Thing is that I'm not even sure I was entitled to a swap as have no recollection of any lifetime warranty when I bought it  ::)

I'd rather use the local idiot factors in Brakkers, and he really is a mongrel, hence my one man boycott of the arogant, stupid idiot.

Still, I can see Hellfrauds either going up the gary glitter, or becoming 100% a bike and leisure shop, moreso now they are ripping out the upstairs in most stores, and shrinking car parts/tools to fit.
