Tunnie and I were planning some tinkering at his during the day.
The Crown's bar does Old Hookey IIRC, for those that like treacle beers, and Stella for lager (I have a rule not to drink Stella on draft, so can't comment). Red Lion is opposite, Fosters and Carling for lager, and I don't think any hand pull ales. Head up the hill, and you have the lively kids pub at the traffic lights (can't remember its name, Rose & Crown?), but does tend to get overrun by (very) young lads who get rawdy after half a weak shandy. Entertaining though. Further along are the Greyhound and the Bell, again quite lively, and some years just before Xmas, the Greyhound bargirls dress up as Santas little helpers... ...and I order anything from the bottom shelf in the fridges

The Locomotive back down towards Mercedes GP/Tesco is a bit, errr, inbred, best avoided, and I think the Fox is currently shut. My local, The Chequered Flag, is a typical estate pub, but I was barred years ago, so obviously can't comment

Its not a bad place to spend a Saturday evening, as we rarely get trouble or things out of hand, unlike many towns.
In essence, I'll easy what peeps what to do - suspect I'll be tinkering until such time as light fades, but happy to go out for a swift one after, before curry. Depends what people have in mind.
