What is it about Apple?
« on: 25 November 2013, 13:34:37 »

Wifey has made her mind up about her Christmas present. iPad mini 32Gb at  £399. I think that's fickin extortionate. She already has her iPad 2, but this will be 'much easier to carry about'.
Once they get hold of you, it seems there's no escape. :-\

MrsT is the same, i stole borrowed brand new Nexus 7 from work for her to use. Had a go for about 10 seconds on it, "nah I prefer the iPad"  ::)

I can see her point though.... but as I'm changing roles, that means current pad needs to be returned. So I need to steal another one find one to borrow  ;D

Well, I'm afraid, I can't see her point. I got this Toshiba tab from ideal world last Christmas for £120. It is.......adequate.

I'm starting to wonder about you, Opti. I think Mrs. Opti probably wears the pants in your house and this forum is pure escapism. You can talk to me anytime, old friend, in the strictest confidence, of course. ;)

My days of apple are coming closer to the end  :-X, My 13 month iphone 5 32gb has recently been having battery issues, Like shutting down at 39% and only lasting an hour or 2 with little use, Contacted apple they won't do it for free but will for £62.44... Luckily I pestered them enough getting it done free "One off exception" so they say after testing the battery through an email diagnostic of some kind.. Still I'm losing faith in apple, Can see me getting an Android something like one of those new Sony smart phones eventually.

The mini is such an improvement over the big ipad. There's no reason for the big ipad to exist IMO. But make sure you wait for the new one. Ipad mini with retina display. As my original mini is struggling now. Noticeably slower than the iphone5.

...although it still does the job. Tbh.

Std Li-on battery, so good for about 300 charges, so about 2 years on a heavily used gayPhone owned by a, errr, gay person.

Not taken apart a 5, but I can say when I changed the battery in her old 3GS last year, its built for servicability. Battery was less than a tenner.

She certainly is this year where iirc previously it was a new fridge and before that a replacement washing machine. It is good to see romanticism at Christmas is not dead.  ::) :o :P ;D ;D ;D ;D
