Check with your Ins Co, some Co's will freeze your NCB bonus for 12 months per WS Claim and dont always tell you this as most people don't actually check their NCB build up every year.  ;)

My NCB is the max ten years or something and, as you don't have to declare these claims, I may have to change my insurer at renewal. ::)

Your NCB is normally shown on your renewel notice or your Insurance Shedule, so renew with a different Co about a month before it expires with a specific start date and show them last years NCB proof. They may check for normal claims  but doubt if they bother with WS ones.  :y

Speed read.

Forget why but I had reason to see my claim history report. There was loads, even in periods where there had been on claims. Turns out they where windscreen claims. I have trouble believing it doesn't affect your premium.

Especially given Autoglass charge between 5-?700 per fitting.

When I needed a new windscreen it was about a GBP40 difference between getting it done via the insurance or paying for the replacement myself.

I queried the effect on my NCB and was told that it would be frozen at this years level, so as I have max NCB it made no difference.  It's always worth checking though and don't just assume that going the insurance route is the way to go...  ;)
