Suggest it would be better to sort out cause of error message before mucking about adjusting lights.  Possibilities are arms off sensors, shagged sensors or bad connection, shagged motors, or broken wire/wiring fault between sensor and motor (had the wiring fault on old Elite Estate and had to replace a length of wire) ;)

If you want to test your sensors just prize the balljoint off the sensor with the lights on and move the arm up and down, if the sensors are working your lights will go up and down (providing the motors are working). I did this to narrow down my intermittent problem and it turned out to be the rear one that was faulty.

Had a look today plugged front sensor back in fld gone from dash so sensors must be ok as system happy.Had a look at adjuster both left and right look broken and just spin round.Take it these xennons on 2001 facelift need adjusters rebuild with alu adjuster as per in technical pages. They do flip up just dont adjust back down. Thanks :y
