A nail and carefully applied wheel brace or brick would suffice if you get stuck...

Yup. Let your pads wear down to the metal, but make sure the wheel nuts are torqued correctly.

No imagination though a bit of improvisation goes a long way, especially given the selection of debris 'tools' you might find on a building site...
