Tb, you're right, I did raise the question, but I later couldn't find it, maybe due to the restore recently (or maybe me being a numpty!)
I didn't see the replies either way, hence this thread
Tunnie, you make a fair point mate, but the problem I have, is that the 2.2 is mechanically near perfect and running very well with new mot and very up together
I picked up (and already installed) a used but known good 100 litre 4 hole stako tank and rear end kit (excl poly pipe) for £60 with the tank within LPGA date limit. This is all neatly mounted ready to go.
So all I need to spend to run on gas is £250 odd for the new front end bits. I can comfortably do a 4 pot front end install in a day, and have loads of time off where I'm kicking my heels, so my time isn't an issue.
I've done 6k miles on petrol since September, so the savings will be quickly recovered. I'm also driving it to Spain next year and LPG would make this cost alone more bearable as we are doing a months euro road trip
The 2.2 does feel under powered, but then, it's usable enough, and I still constantly get stuck behind idiots doing 45 in a 60 etc with little overtaking space be it a v6 or a 4 pot.
I moan about amersham hill, but then, even with a 3.2, I might overtake more up the hill, only to shortly come up behind 40mph man shortly afterwards

Realistically, I've made this car sound , it's the most reliable I've ever had, and I've done loads to keep it in good shape incl wishbones, wim, brakes, genuine Cam cover gasket
Cambelt kit and pump ready to fit...
The only argument for a v6 in the coming months is because it would make me smile more.
Now I have moved buying cars frequently and doing them up just isn't feasible.
My plan is run the reliable 2.2 for at least a year or two from now, and given my mileage a, I feel LPG will pay back quickly
