It never did happen and never will if any representative democracy is going to go forward and grasp the future. ;) ;)

It's sinister!  :(

If they are prepared to suppress information about a railway, what else are they hiding?  :-\

You should worry.

The Spanish government is trying to bring in a law to fine people protesting (without permission) up to 600.000€ (now reduced to 30.000€) .

For once the EU is actually helping citizens by telling Spain they cannot introduce this law!

Are they decimal points or commas? If they're commas, that's outrageous, if they're decimal points, there's no need for them. ;D

Those are commas. The original proposal was up to 600,000 euros fine.(nearly half a million pounds)

Not surprisingly it is the topic of conversation here. One suspects that the government don't want protests.

I don't want to disappoint Nickbat!  ;)

Anyway I think we should get outraged more than we do in this country.  ::) Look at the Thais and Ukrainians getting all outraged, 1 government down and one wobbling!!  :o  Now that's people power!!!  :y

With the amount of CS gas and baton rounds they have bought, I guess they are looking to recoup their money, when they use them on the protesters.  :o :o :o :o

What I don't understand is that the project can be described in seven words, which is: "Expensive white elephant from London to Birmingham", yet it takes them 55,000 pages of text, just for the bill in parliament. That is one page of text for every 12 feet of track. Still no surprise I guess, when you are spending somebody else's money.  >:( >:( >:( >:(

They have no choice but to build it like HS1. It is part of the EU's high speed railway strategy to keep the EUSSR provinces in close contact with Brussels and allow the rapid deployment of their 'peace keeping' forces once they are established to quell any native unrest.  >:( >:( >:( >:(
