Just done a uswitch broadband test as it's been crap for weeks and got the following which looks to be crap:

upload 0.7Mb
download 0.3Mb

I'm on sky and it is meant to be 8mb minimum so what to do now? can they/will they do anything if I contact them?

I suspect its an "up to 8Mb", rather than 8Mb minimum.

Check your router for sync speeds, if the router syncs well, then tell Sky to shove it. If the router syncs poorly, disconnect all internal wiring, plug router into main socket, and repeat test. Let us know outcome, as if that improves it, we can advise

Virgin cable runs 1 ft away from my back garden wall but doesn't come down my street
