Headlights and Fog lights
« on: 13 December 2013, 19:59:55 »

Looking to replace my headlights in the new year, cash flow permitting that is. They're looking tired now and I get fed up with T-cutting them every so often just so I can get some light out of them. Any idea what's the best option for replacements and where to get them. I've no desire to get genuine ones, not at more than £150 each  ::)

Also need to replace one of the fog lights as the lens has a crack in it, letting in a little water now and again. Would like some clear ones if possible from later models but don't know if they'll fit. Anyone know if it's possible to fit FL fog lights to a pre FL car? How about the best place to get them from, or would it simply be a breakers job?

Thanks

But could fit facelift crash bar, bumper, headlights and bonnet to prefacelift :y

With the mirrors, side trims/skirts and rear bumper, be a nice easy tidy up

There is a company on fleebay called Ace Parts doing cheaper headlights but I dont know how good they are. If you should buy any from them or any other cheaper source let me know. I got a headlight from a breakers for £20.00

Sorry to drag up an old thread but thought it would be better than starting again.

Now I've got a little money (not much lol) put aside for some parts,I'm looking to buy the headlight units. My question is this, ones I've got are 90487570 & 90487572 (at least that's what comes up on the TC website), could they be replaced directly with the clear 9117186 & 9117187 units? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Depo-Headlamp-Right-O-S-Offside-Driver-Side-Fits-Vauxhall-Omega-09-1997-09-1999-/190893988202?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2c722b196a

I don't mind spending £100 for a pair as long as they fit, obviously. Would they be a straight swap, nothing needing to be changed either with the fittings or the dash adjuster?

Thanks for any info anyone can provide.

One/s in link are a straight swap. If purchased get some Osram Nightbreakers to fit in them

Thanks for replying so quickly Rob.
So they're just a straight swap from http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VAUXHALL-OMEGA-2-0-2-5-V6-94-01-Hella-Headlamp-Cluster-Drivers-O-S-Side-/400669839378?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item5d49c89012 no compatibility issues?

I'm assuming the bulbs are a recommendation and not a requirement? I'll get them as they look like they're a lot brighter than the ones I've got on there but it may have to wait a week.

When I'm gonna change headlights I'll definitely go for OEM, as aftermarket has much worse lighting.
Even though its pricey
