Selling advice?
« on: 19 December 2013, 08:39:38 »

As we're expecting our 3rd (and final!) baby in April I have been scouring the market for a possible replacement car.

To cut a long story short I have been offered another car at a great price. Not in any way shape or form drooling over it at its a 05 plate grand scenic however it may be what we're looking for.

I've been looking at what I could reasonably get for the omega as prices are anywhere from £500 up to well mad money really and it's throwing me off.

So what's a fair price guys and gals if I do put her on ebay. Either now or next month.

Few stats.

52 plate 2.6 Cdx
125k
Full black leather
6 months tax
13 months mot
Contitech   Cambelt kit done a few weeks ago.
Loads of other jobs done
Has a prodrive spoiler and a stainless exhaust.
Excellent condition really.

Quick pic

I had a figure in mind but just want a general opinion as prices are all over the place on ebay.
It's very much ifs and buts at the moment but I'd appreciate your selling advise.
Cheers all!

regardless of anything else, if you can wait until after the end of january - and preferably last week in february, after xmas is paid off, you'll get a better price.

Of course, if you're buying, mid january is best, cos most people don't have any cash then, so less competition for the cars which are available.  ;)

as to yours, and without looking at market prices (and despite the fact it's a saloon), I personally, if I was in the market would be looking at paying 1200-1500 for the one above.
But I'm a tight-arse yorkshireman, so you I might be lowballing you  :y

Thanks so far guys. It's in the region of what I was thinking. It's good to know. I will chew it over the Christmas period and see how I feel come January with regards the scenic (my aunts car).

Just be aware that those Scenic's can be a world of pain electrically :(

Heard all this shite before. Wife's megane, with sat nav, keyless entry, auto lights and wipers etc etc, has never cost a penny in three and a half years and 37000 miles. Despite the hysteria on here when I bought it, I took no notice and went ahead. Glad I did.
All the electrics are working perfectly, unlike mondeos that won't let you in, or other, German cars that generally self-destruct.
The lad over the road has got a Megan scenic on a 56 plate and has had no problems.

Luck of the draw tbh. SWMBO had a pug 206, bag of nails and cost a fortune. Changed it for a Megane coupe, sweet as a nut. Personally wouldn't have French, but it's personal choice and experience :)

Luck of the draw with any car, not just French ones. People on here don't give you a personal choice, they tell you what you should buy, due to their vast experience of....errr......reading what other people say. ;D
