Could be the bung rubber has gone all hard (oooo-errr!) & not opening fully when water is in there.

Try removing the bung to allow a better flow  :y

Tunnie I thought that might be my problem ie a hard rubber bung. If I could get to it I would replace it but cant get my hand in. I assume that you cant put it in from the outside. I also thought about removing the bung permanently but thought it must be there for some purpose. Update after all that rain last night the resevoir was empty,I hope that I have sorted it this time, it will be a weekly check for a while. :y

Reading this got me concerned so when i got home had a look as i noticed windows were misty when car was standing in drive. Drivers side was fine but passengers side had 4 inches of water just wetting base of pollen filter, poked around and freed up base ,lots of water ,forced hand down and removed bung taking off flap then putting it back clean. When you talk about "hedgehog"/fan do you mean heater fan inside car? This still works so hopefully i've caught the water in time

Do you have very small hands, a bit tight in there ,was it easy to get out. Time for everybody to check their scuttle drain. The hedgehog is the unit that controls the air circ.  fan motor speed. On my perevious omega the hedgehog went caput and the only way I could stop the fan from running was to take the fuse out. Other symptoms however do occur.

didnt know there was a flap but this could be the problem with my bung when this flap closes up and blocks water drain. Will have to grease hand and dive in.

I've the same problem, water on the floor (not UK car, so water on the driver's side - left, front and back, but it comes from front). Scuttle is not blocked, I clean it usually every 3-4 mounths.  The biggest problem that I have no idea where the water comes from into the car, windshield was replaced it was an idea, but still fresh water under the mat. I have to remove (cut out.. :(() the whole mat and than I hope I will see what is the cause of my problem.. ??? ???

I had the same problem and traced it to a leaking windscreen. You have replaced your screen but has it been tested with an air line and soapy water .When I had my problem I got buubles from various points of the screen seal.

Hmmm...we've done the job with my friend, he is an expert, we cleaned the surface well, and at bad points we used rust remedy. The idea is great anyway it's worth an experiment, thanks.
