Remember yesterday?
« on: 24 December 2013, 13:30:47 »

I was sitting in town, sipping my latte and laughing at all the headless chickens doing their last minute shopping dance. Well...I thought we'd take another little trip into own today, why not, nothing else to do? Everything ready, lunch at our friends tomorrow, all the presents delivered, at peace with ourselves.

At about 11:45 we get a text. Our friend is not well. If fact, far too poorly to cook Christmas dinner tomorrow. Really, really sorry.

SHIIIIIIIIT!

Rush to asda, grab trolley and speed round the aisles. Turkey crown...that'll do, sprouts.....yes, there's some left...........get the last, humongous Christmas put in the store. Gasp....

Why are people looking at us like that whilst drinking their latte? Anyone would think we was mad. :-[ :-[

Isn't Christmas wonderful.

I was by chance in Asda at 7AM this morning, pandemonium! fights over the reduced price turkeys.......I only needed 20 fags  :y. I wonder what caused the sudden nausea of the peron who realised they was hosting you for xmas dinner?  ;D

I popped into the Coop on the way home, I normally buy meat from a butcher, just as they were price reducing the 'truly irresistible' sausages from £2.99 to 40p . Ive now got 4 packs in the freezer  :y

mmm... Christmas.  A very succesful festival of commerce.  I enjoy Christmas but just dont get the necessity ensure everyone on the planet has been awareded some superficial, unnecessary tat wrapped in paper.

Enough to eat and drink and the company of friends and family all relaxed and in good spirits... priceless but free apart from the donation of a little good will.

Enjoy the shops and Merry Christmas :)
