Source for Autobox Gaskets and Filters
« on: 28 December 2013, 22:54:23 »

Just pulling together the bits for a autobox fluid change and need the best source of bits....

Have seen this on ebay. Does anybody know if this is right for the Omega (2.5 V6)?
AUTOMATIC-GEARBOX-SERVICE-KIT-/121238749885?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1c3a6482bd
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VAUXHALL-OPEL-CARLTON-SENATOR-MONZA-GM-4L30-E-

Alternatively, its £60 for the filter and another £40 for gaskets from Vauxhall unless somebody knows something I dont?  ;)

Cheers, Ian

Just clean the filter. If its got anything significant in it you have bigger problems than no replacement filter, its for large pieces not fine particulates, the magnet in the sump catches those.

You could use an instant gasket for the two sumps, but I prefer gaskets personally. I use dealers for those but I'm sure there are cheaper sources. ...?

I have a new unused gearbox filter and gasket kit which I can post for £40.  Not sure from memory if it is genuine GM or aftermarket.  It's late now and its in the garage, I will check in the morning.

Again, purchased as a spare for my car which is now sold.

Thanks I'd have that. Would you let me know when you've found the bits and I'll pay you by your chosen method.

Cheers, ian

I've found it, still in its original box so in good condition.  Wife is dargging me out for a walk so will respond in more detail when we get back.

Sorry for delay, been one of those days.  Further examination of the filter shows minor markings on the plating.  I do not believe these have any significance but want to give you the oportunity to see photos before we proceed.  Can you advise your email by private message and I will send photos.

If using JPAT, see the sticky in the top of the For Sale sections, as we can get discounts there :)

Hi Ian
I have sent a couple of mails to your address with photos attached but I have received the following rejection:-

"Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:
     fearn.ian1@gmail.co.uk
Technical details of permanent failure:
DNS Error: DNS server returned general failure"

Not sure where to go from here.
