my dog is 9 years old and only been to the vets for her jabs.
we save 10 a month and but itinto a seprate bank account then when we have a 100 pounds we buy a premium bond so far we have just over 4000 [yeah we missed a few months]
we looked at it like this
we bought  a pedigree dog that dosnt normaly suffer from any heath problems, thats expected to live about 10-12 years
so we gambled that a young dog should have at least 2 years with out anything going wrong so that would be a 1000 pounds we would have towards any bills and we could finace if it was anymore.if the dog was really ill/injured we could always have her but to sleep, harsh I know but at the end of the day its a animal. that would likely need a lot of care that we would not be able to give.
so now we have a big chunk of money and we have had a couple of 50 pound wins as well.mighteven win the big one!!!

All sounds very good, but should you dog slip it's lead  or escape any other way and cause a road traffic accident, it could cost hundred of thousands , so insurance is a better option.

Yes, and after two years it would be £240. Still....as the dog proved to be a healthy beast...a profit nonetheless. ;D
