which engine oil please ?

high everyone just wondering would Castrol gtx 5w-30 A1 be ok for my 52 reg omega 2.2 auto 16v petrol ? I hope so as it was on offer at my local asda fo £12 for 4 litres and my second question is 4 litres enough for an oil change ? cheers rob :-\

Vx 10 40 W semi or similar is the normal recommended on here, Castrol is ok but can lead to Mayo build up.

4 litres isnt enough for oil change, and Halfords currently offer 10 40 W semi for £10 for 4 Litres at the moment, till stocks last!.

I use 5w 40 fully sympathetic,  :)

that's great thanks everyone glad I kept the receipt now will take it back tomorrow
so I need 10-40 semi synthetic and how many litres for an oil change will I need please ? cheers rob

Or that, in fact Halfords are also doing 5 40 W Full Synth also for £10 4 litres at the mo, but would order and reserve on line as think it expires tonight or tomorrow.  :y

Never had a 2.2 petrol think its 4.5 or 5 litres, but someone would need to confirm.
