« on: 14 January 2014, 00:16:01 »

hi,

can someone tell me what is securing the spoiler on an estate? is it any screws or is it held with some sort of seal? I would like to take one off a salvage car.

many thanks :y

Lots of glue :y any screws will be obvious from underneath with the tailgate open :y

Some Irmscher ones have locating pins in the top corners, depends who fitted it really :-\

If you can take the tailgate away, and heat it with a hairdrier or similar to soften the adhesive, can be lifted off with care, but they can snap. If cutting off with a wire saw, be very careful as they are also really easy to saw through :-X

When it comes to refitting, use...

Mine is held on with sealant and either 4  bolts which are under the trim and covered with coloured sticky patches. Bolt on each end and 2 more towards the centrer. Sealant on mine want that hard to remove.
